Bronze Practice Expedition

To ensure we cover the full DofE Bronze training syllabus, we follow this on with either

An overnight training camp which will give young people the best opportunity to experience a full training weekend to try out the skill they have learnt.

Or another full day mini expedition including a walk, cooking a meal and putting up a tent, with a Qualified Outdoor Instructor per group.

To ensure the young people are safely and correctly prepared for the Qualifying Expedition to walk on footpaths, unaccompanied on a planned route, met at checkpoints and complete a 2 day overnight expedition.

Bronze Qualifying Expedition

On arrival the groups will be allocated a Qualified Outdoor Instructor each, and the route is explained to the young people, we check they have the right food, equipment and discuss any worries. We are a Pastoral AAP so ensuring young people’s confidence is built and while they may be out of their comfort zone, they are supported to achieve. The Expedition is evaluated and Assessed by their Instructors.
