At Award Solutions, we take safety to be a very important part of all the different awards we deliver.
We have a number of policy’s and safety procedures that are rigidly adhered to and regularly updated and reviewed. We see planning ahead as an important part of our work when we organise an expedition or course. We go into fine detail in preparing all our activities so that everybody gets a positive learning experience.
All activities are thoroughly risk assessed and constantly reviewed before, during and after an activity to ensure that, everybody goes home safe and that people have enjoyed a challenging experience taking account of their abilities and environmental factors. In today’s society, we encourage people to be involved in our risk assessment process so they learn to manage and limit risk.
All our staff are fully trained and hold a valid first aid certificate and undergo first aid refresher training once a year to ensure their skills are updated. They are all DBS cleared which is the replacement of the CRB check and this is done every 3 years. They also have undergone Safeguard Training and we have a dedicated Safeguarding Officer who is responsible for the companies safeguarding of all young people and vulnerable adults.
Award Solutions’ experience in delivering expeditions for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award has enabled us to become an Approved Activity Provider for the expedition section of the award. We annually go through a review with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to make sure the expeditions and training we deliver meets their requirements.
Award Solutions hold employee and public liability insurance. If you require a copy of this for your organisation, one can be made available to you.
